Project Insight
As an intern at the University of Michigan Information and Technology Services, I was tasked to take on the ITS Onboarding Project and look to improve their overall system across all departments.
Findings
1. Stakeholders did like the original process but wanted to find ways to shorten the timeline for the onboarding process.
2. Departments wanted a way to reduce having too many documents and have a location for onboarding documents from different departments.
3. Stakeholders want to implement a new system but says cost is what's holding them back from having one.
Recommendations
1. Having meetings with all departments a few times throughout the process and finding ways to keep communication strong.
2. Build a location to have all onboarding files for all departments to keep files organized.
3. Discuss ways to have fundraisers or another way to raise money to devlop and implement a new system to save time for all stakeholders.
