Project Insight
As an intern at the University of Michigan Information and Technology Services, I was tasked to take on the ITS Onboarding Project and look to improve their overall system across all departments.
Findings
📌 Stakeholders did like the original process but wanted to find ways to shorten the timeline for the onboarding process.
📌 Departments wanted a way to reduce having too many documents and have a location for onboarding documents from different departments.
📌 Stakeholders want to implement a new system but says cost is what's holding them back from having one.
Recommendations
❗ Having meetings with all departments a few times throughout the process and finding ways to keep communication strong.
❗ Build a location to have all onboarding files for all departments to keep files organized.
❗ Discuss ways to have fundraisers or another way to raise money to develop and implement a new system to save time for all stakeholders.
